Recruiting – Employment Lawyer

P4B Law Limited is recruiting for an experienced Employment Lawyer.

We are a boutique Employment Law Practice based in South Wales. Established for over 20 years, we have a client list that would be the envy of many firms.  These include a number of ‘listed’ companies, professional sports bodies and a PLC. At the other end of the spectrum we advise local garages, small charities, and family concerns.

Undertaking only employer work, 100% of our clients come through recommendation. We have excellent client retention rates and many of our clients are very long-standing.

We are seeing to recruit an additional experienced employment lawyer to strengthen our well-established team. We currently have five employment lawyers and additional support staff. No employment lawyer has ever left our employment, which hopefully tells you something!

Our lawyers consist of an RS15 Barrister and four advisers who previously practised in various sized solicitor firms across the UK.

Whilst our employment lawyers are all professionally qualified, we are not a firm of solicitors.

The successful candidate will work mainly from home but occasionally be required to attend client sites. We do not have a physical office.

The role requires all-round employment law and HR knowledge. Excellent communication and drafting skills are essential, as is the willingness to occasionally attend disciplinary and grievance hearings to advise clients in person. Our focus is very much on advising clients on what they can do, rather than what they can’t do. We take the approach that our clients are not interested in knowing what the law is per se, they simply want a resolution to their problem.

You need to be willing to advise on the mundane through to the complicated. The ability to build relationships with clients is essential. You will need to self-manage. Benefitting from a huge degree of autonomy, you will need to be self-disciplined. The advice we give sometimes slips into a hybrid of employment law and HR.

Experience as an employment tribunal advocate, with a track record of defending employment tribunal claims would be highly desirable. We undertake almost all our employment tribunal advocacy in-house. We also undertake insurance linked tribunal work.

Whilst we operate across the UK, ideally the successful candidate will be located in South East Wales or South West England, although this is not essential.

We may consider recruiting even though you may not completely fit the description. The right attitude is as essential as the right skills.

Interested candidates (sorry, no agencies) should send a CV along with salary expectation and a supporting statement to recruitment@p4b-law.co.uk
